UMBRELLA
Here it is...our 3rd gathering at the infamous Winston Kingdom in Amsterdam. We are very happy to announce the return of Unwanted by Neighbours for the second time around. After their success at the last even it was clear that these guys will make a lot of noise in the future...an so it goes. On june 30th UBN will be happy to announce the release of their first album...as we get closer to the event..we will be revealing more info on this up and coming album. Meanwhile mark the calendars, arrange babysitters and make all necessary arranments for you to be there.Also for your listening pleasure a young band out of Den Haag, Swimming Fishes...http://www.myspace.com/supportthefishes
So that takes care of the first part of the evening....we will continue with a list of your favorites. Matt Tako...once again back for more....this time Matt will grace us with 2 hour special DJ set. Miami WMC
WOW.....what can i say. Music conference was absolutely insane!!...just the amount of talent that was gathered to one little island far far away...pretty siick! so lets see.....this time i had a chance to attend a lot of poolside parties....I had a chance to check out Pacha, Shore Club parties , Beatport and remix Hotel....
I have to say that the Beatport pool parties were most memorable for me.....they always had a sick line up and lots of smiling faces!!...i will be posting pics soon...too many to go through right now....one thing at the time..
nex up was the shore club events.....really nice setting around a pool and some of the best in the music industry graced the decks. ...this was a fun place for us.....lots of pictures to come as well!!!
Then came friday night and it was our turn to make some noise.....so the venue was Dr. Feelgoods aka BLUE. really nice and cozy....the only thing for me was that the dj booth on the second floor and seemed so far from the dancing crowd, but i think that did not matter that night....the energy that night was almost undiscribable.....all the dj that night brought their absoulute best.....it was one for the books for sure....so many pictures to come for this one...so stay tuned...
Saturday we had the plesure of playing the Sullivan Room party, that has easily become one of the best events during the WMC. ..once again Scumfrog as well as Difuse, Hector Romero and the 2Damn Cheaky boys....
there was a lot talent there that night so the Dj times were like 30-40 min...but still....siiiick
people loved it...
both nights i had a chance to let loose the Purple Unicorn....and it was GOOD!!!
...by the way Purple Unicorn will be uploaded for your listening pleasure shortly....and yes it will also be available for downloading.

TIPS AND TRICKS for Home RECORDING

Tip 0: Get an SM57! They're not that expensive and very versatile.
Tip 1: Get another SM57! A condenser will easily pick up your room's direct reflections. Bonus: no phantom power required, so you can use any preamp available. Even an old tape deck will do.
Tip 2: Get old matrasses (not the dirty ones) as anti-flutter echo devices.
Tip 3: Get 2 mic stands, a big one and a small one, so you can mic virtually anything.
Tip 4: If you own a laptop, record on that, so you can freely move through the building.
Tip 5: When recording an instrument, spend more time in (fine)tuning it than in micing it.
Tip 6: Build or get a pop screen.
Tip 7: Free plugins
Tip 8: Re-amp your drum recordings in a room and compress it. Mix it back in with the original drum recording.
Tip 9: Start your drum recordings with 2 or 3 mics: kick, overhead and maybe snare. Beef it up with some plate reverb and compress it!
